Open Friday – Monday from 7th September until October half term 24 Oct-1 Nov, when we will open daily. We will then return to Friday to Monday opening throughout Nov & Dec, until Dec 20th when we will close for Christmas, reopening on Jan 2nd 2021.

How to book your StayPlayExplore time slot

Step one - go to, click on Museum tickets (top right), and select the month you wish to visit. 
Step two - choose the date and time you wish to visit
Step three - Choose the ticket type, scroll to the bottom of the ticket types and choose the Pre-Paid/Free Ticket (see screen shot below) and select the number of tickets you wish to redeem, then click checkout (there will be no charge as you have a StayPlayExplore ticket).
Step 4 - complete in your contact details and telephone number for NHS Test and Trace, then click register.

You will be emailed your timed entry ticket for the Museum which you must show on arrival together with your StayPlayExplore voucher.

Museum is open daily 10am - 5pm. Last admission to the Museum and Collections Centre is 4.30pm. Closed 24 December 2020 - 1 January 2021 inclusive.
