National Space Centre

Exploration Drive,

On 20 November the National Space Centre is hosting a steam-powered celebration of H.G. Wells’ 155th birthday with food, music and more.

At the War of the Worlds dinner you can enjoy a Gin Fizz cocktail under giant rockets upon arrival, take time to enjoy the Centre’s galleries before taking your seat for a sumptuous 3-course meal, cooked by the Centre’s in-house award-winning team
Your meal will be accompanied by live entertainment thanks to Count Rostov, Alice Strange, Thomas B Wild Esq. and followed by an evening dancing the night away to Victor and the Bully.

Count Rostov has become a firm favourite at Steampunk events, with radio plays in the style of the Goon Show and Round the Horn, wowing audiences throughout the UK.

Alice Strange started her journey in classical music before venturing into her own style of music which encompasses influences from a wide range of musical genres and literature.

With banjolele in hand, Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. has been delivering his own brand of musical humour since 2016, with over 100 million views across social media. His performances charm audiences with a unique mix of original material, singalong classics and a sharp vintage wardrobe.

Victor and The Bully use a ‘carnival blend’ of live ukulele and acoustic guitar with a twist of orchestral instruments to provide a very theatrical and cabaret-like sound. Inspired by steampunk, swing, mariachi, classical, electro-swing and punk.

The menu includes the chance to choose each course, starting with either cream of butternut squash, apple and smoked paprika soup or chicken liver pate. For mains the options are braised daube of beef or sweet potato, cranberry and Red Leicester filo Parcel. To finish guests can enjoy either raspberry ripple cheesecake or chocolate and orange bomb.

Specific dietary requirements can be catered for, with guests asked to inform the team when booking tickets online.
